Shah Jo Risalo (Shah Jo Magazine) is the name of verses compiled by Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
Many scholars and linguists have published Shah Jo Magazine with their own compilations, so many editions are available.
None of the editions are considered authoritative, but it is believed that all the authentic verses of Bhittai in the ancient version of Shah Jo Magazine.
It is believed that Shah's verses were compiled in his life, but he did not like it and he threw the only version of his verses into a pond. Later, his devotees asked him to write some verses, so he recited many verses that were written in writing.
But most of his work was never written, memorized only by the people, and became popular in Sindh's folk culture.
The traditional compilations of Shah Jo Magazine include 30 volumes (chapters) compiled by famous researchers.
The earliest publications of Shah Jo Risalo included 36 Surs, but most linguists later discarded 6 Surs, because their language and content did not match the style of the Shah’s.
Recently, Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, a renowned linguist of Sindhi language, has compiled and published a new edition after 32 years of research in the language, culture and Sindhi language.
